The Annaprashana is also known as Annaprashana vidhi, Annaprasan or Anna-prasanam or Anna Prashashan, is an Indian culture that marks an infant s first intake of food other than milk.
The term annaprashan literally means food feeding or eating of food.
It is usually carried out when the child is six to eight months old — odd months for girls and even months for boys — when the teeth have begun to appear, though the child may be weaned at a later time.
It is an occasion for celebration, and extended family, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend.

Chandi Homa is one of the most popular Homas in the Hindu religion. It is performed across India during various festivals, especially during the Navaratri. Chandi Homa is performed by reciting verses from the Durga Sapthasathi and offering oblations into the sacrificial fire. It could also be accompanied by the Navakshari Mantra. Kumari Puja, Suvasini Puja also form a part of the ritual. Chandi, the fiercest form of the Goddess, who is the main deity of the famous Devi Mahatmya, is a great poem of seven hundred verses (also called Durga Saptasati or Chandi) which celebrates the destruction of demons. As Chandi or the destroyer of opposition, she can be invoked for removing obstacles to allow us to attain any of the four goals of life.

Rudrabhishekam is dedicated to Lord Shiva and he is worshipped in the form of Rudra or fire. The history behind the pooja is that Lord Rama performed the pooja at Rameshwaram before he crosses the sea to reach Lanka to relieve Sita from Ravanan. He performed the abhishekam to wash out his sins and to bring prosperity and happiness to his family. The best time to perform the pooja is the pradosham day of every month as it is one of the favorite days of Lord Shiva. Alternatively, Mondays could also be considered auspicious for the puja. The pooja is accompanied by Chamakam and namakam recitals and could be performed at any Shiva temple.
